Social Engagement

As an owner-managed, international group of companies with strong roots in the Neuenrade and Lübeck regions, we see it as our responsibility to support local initiatives, institutions and associations. We focus on values such as responsibility, tradition and sustainability. That is why we provide particular support in the areas of education, e-mobility and sport. You can find an excerpt of our commitment here.

For years it has been our tradition not to send our customers Christmas presents. Instead, every year we hold a painting competition for the children of our employees. The best entries are sent as Christmas cards instead of gifts. The money "saved" is donated to good causes.

Education

As part of the Bilingual Education project, a comprehensive bilingual education programme will be created in the city of Lübeck by 2025 at the latest, from kindergarten to A-levels, in order to acquire a bilingual biography. The bilingual teaching will be supplemented by native speakers. IBG is a shareholder of Bilinguale Erziehung in Lübeck gGmbH.

Since 2011, the federal government and private sponsors have been supporting high-performing and committed students with a German scholarship. It is the largest public-private project in the education sector in Germany. IBG supports the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.

Balve Realschule (a type of secondary school) is located together with the Hauptschule (also a type of secondary school) in the school complex of Balve. The Realschule is attended by over 400 pupils, who are taught by 22 teachers. IBG is cooperation partner of the Realschule.

E-mobility

The Formula Student Team Raceyard of the Kiel University of Applied Sciences and the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel develops, constructs and builds its own racing car within the Formula Student framework. This is an international design competition for student teams competing in various disciplines. The competition offers participating students the opportunity to directly apply their skills and theoretical knowledge from their studies. In the 2017/2018 season IBG was platinum sponsor of the Raceyard Teams.

The Northern European E-Mobile Rally leads the participants across Schleswig-Holstein. At the biggest e-mobile rally in Northern Europe a smooth and energy-saving driving style is in the foreground. Because in a competition with electric cars it is more about accuracy and endurance than about speed. Driving skills, the economical use of energy and cooperation within the team are combined in a sporty and entertaining way at this automobile event. IBG is not only sponsor of the event, but also participates in the Rally with trainees.

Sports and clubs

The Balve Optimum is an international equestrian tournament, which takes place annually in June on the show grounds at Wocklum Castle in Balve. The tournament is organised by the Turniergemeinschaft Balve GmbH and the Reiterverein Balve. We support the tournament.

The Young Roosters are the offspring of the Iserlohn EC. The men's team plays as Iserlohner Roosters in the German Ice Hockey League. Each season about 1,000 children take part in the IEC school sport and 120 children go through the ice skating school. The teams play in six age groups. IBG participates as a car sponsor of the young ice hockey players.

On the occasion of the Prange Cup 2016, IBG sent its own basketball team, the Dunkin' Robots, into the race for the first time and with a fantastic result. Since then, employees have been training regularly to further develop their skills.

Optimisation of production processes in all sectors

Automation and Robotics as instruments for increasing the efficiency of industrial production processes are designed and developed by the IBG / Goeke Technology Group, under the guiding principle "Transformation of human genius into technical perfection". Technology solutions and high technology systems are designed for the individual requirements of our global clients and all sectors, from our main headquarters in Neuenrade, Dortmund.

Automotive solutions, robotics-based solutions and other technology systems from the IBG / Goeke Technology Group are best-in-the-class industry technologies. We achieve this top level in industrial technology through close interlinking of decades of experience as engineers with science and research. We ensure that our know-how in the automotive and robotics fields, as well as our technology service, benefits from optimisation of industrial processes, but without losing sight at the person at the centre of it all – learn more about our social engagement here.
