Transmission assembly

Task:

The transmission is an extremely difficult component which is attached to the engine block as part of the assembly process. Only with the most accurate possible joining of engine and transmission can the optimal functioning of the transmission be guaranteed.

Solution:

A total of six cameras record the position of the drive plate and transmission shaft in order to position the transmission precisely according to the two- and three-dimensional measured values. Using a robot, the motor and transmission are connected to one another in a torque-compatible manner, a first in the automotive industry.
